- EPISTEMIC STANCE PERSONAL PRONOUNS IN MALAYSIAN TERTIARY LEVEL ESL ISLAMIC BASED WRITTEN TASKS

Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, KUISSHOW ABSTRACTThe commitment to correspond the Islamic teachings highlights the importance of Malaysian Muslims being proficient in the worldwide lingua franca English. Learners’ approaches of expressing epistemic stance in the first language and target language differ depending on the discourse and context. English as a Second Language (ESL) studies in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) are lacking in exploring English for da’wah (Islamic missionary) purposes, therefore, examining interlanguage writing of the Malay tertiary level learners specifically the pre-university students, in this genre is significant. The study aims to analyse the Malaysian Muslim tertiary level students’ written English in expressing about Islamic related matters. The analysis focuses on the use of personal pronouns in communicating their Muslim perspectives of their religious teachings. An analysis on the use of epistemic stance-taking personal pronouns of 13 average Malaysian Muslim pre-university students’ short paragraph compositions has been conducted. They had to write about the du’a (supplication) and about strengthening relationship within fellow Muslims. The analysis examines the structural and linguistic contextual features of the epistemic stance-taking personal pronouns employed. The personal pronouns most exploited in the writing are the plural first person ‘we’ and ‘us’. The findings suggest that these students mostly could express their ideas about the du’a and Muslim bonding in English reasonably, albeit not utterly exceptional and as formal as most accessible English medium Islamic resources.Keywords: Epistemic Stance, English as a Second Language, Language Learning.

Konsep integrasi atau kesepaduan ini berkait dengan satu himpunan konsep hubungkait, cantuman, saling hubungan, gabung jalin, penyambungan, kesinambungan, penyelarasan, pertalian, perkaitan, interaksi, kerjasama, merentas disiplin, kesalingbergantungan dan penyatuan. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian perpustakaan yang mana melibatkan analisis dokumen terhadap sumber-sumber yang menerangkan tentang konsep integrasi ilmu. Konsep-konsep integrasi ini dalam artikel ini berkait rapat dengan pemahaman terhadap pendidikan di mana pendidikan mewujudkan interaksi bukan sahaja antara manusia, malahan juga interaksi dengan alam. Konsep bersepadu ini memandu manusia di dalam perlakuan dan perbuatan seharian. Ini berlaku apabila paksi kepada konsep sepadu adalah berteraskan al-Quran dan as-Sunnah. Justeru, konsep bersepadu dalam pendidikan sesuai untuk diterjemahkan ke dalam proses integrasi komponen perubahan iaitu pendidikan, kurikulum dan masyarakat. Diharapkan menerusi proses pengintegrasian ini nanti generasi yang akan dihasilkan kelak dapat menghadapi sebarang cabaran yang mendatang sama ada dari dalam atau luar negara.

SHOW ABSTRACTA concept is an idea that clearly stated and produced out of a particular model. A concept provides us with ways to see the world and it is important to define a problem in a study. The concept of integration relates to a set of concept of interrelationship, combination, mutual relationship, coherence, connection, continuity, alignment, relation, connection, interaction, cooperation, cross-discipline, interdependent and unification. This study uses the library study method which involves documents analysis against sources that describes the concept of knowledge integration. The integration concepts are discussed in an in-depth manner according to the view of Western and Islamic scholars in this paper.

Penghijrahan dalam Islam bukan sahaja berbentuk lahiriah iaitu perpindahan fizikal dari satu negara ke negara yang lain, namun disertai dengan perpindahan batiniah iaitu dilakukan kerana Allah SWT dan rasul-Nya serta beralih daripada sifat-sifat tercela kepada sifat-sifat terpuji. Seiring dengan peredaran zaman, bentuk dan matlamat penghijrahan manusia turut berubah. Penghijrahan kini dominan berlaku atas faktor mempertingkatkan taraf ekonomi individu, keluarga dan negara. Oleh itu, kertas kerja ini bertujuan untuk mengetengahkan semula hukum-hakam penghijrahan dari sisi pandang Islam. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis dokumen. Kajian mendapati bahawa hukum penghijrahan terbahagi kepada wajib, sunat, harus dan haram. Hukum tersebut berbeza mengikut tempat dan kondisi yang berlaku. Penghijrahan juga merupakan satu ibadah kepada Allah yang perlu dilaksanakan dengan ikhlas kepada-Nya. Hukum-hukum tersebut terpakai sehingga ke hari kiamat. Oleh itu, kajian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi panduan agar aktiviti penghijrahan tidak berpaksikan kepada tuntutan lahiriah semata-mata tetapi disertai dengan tuntutan batiniah.

SHOW ABSTRACTThe fact of human migration has already occurred in the period of Nabi Muhammad SAW. Migration in Islam is not just a physical movement from one country to another, it is companioned by a spiritual act done because of Allah SWT and his messenger, improving from the bad to the good values. As time passes by, the method and migration goals also changed. Migration is now a dominant factor which enhances the economic status of individuals, families and nations. Therefore, this study aims to highlight the original rulings of migration from the perspective of Islam. This study is a qualitative study using document analysis approach. The study found that laws of migration are divided into obligatory, encouraged, permitted and forbidden. The variations of the laws are depending on the differences of the place and its conditions. Migration is also the worship of Allah that should be conducted out in good faith in Him. The laws are applied until the day of resurrection. Thus, this study is expected to be a guideline to the migration activities which is not based on physical need alone but aligned with a spiritual need.

- CLASSIFYING AFFECTIVE STATES IN VR ACCORDING TO RUSSELL’S 4-QUADRANT CIRCUMPLEX MODEL OF EMOTIONS VIA WEARABLE EEG AND MACHINE LEARNING

Universiti Malaysia Sabah, UMS.SHOW ABSTRACTThis study attempts to produce a novel database for classification on emotional analysis using virtual reality (VR) obtained from third party sources such as YouTube, Discovery VR, Jaunt VR, NYT VR, Veer VR and Google Cardboard, as the visual stimuli for evoking emotions from a commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) wearable Electroencephalography (EEG) headset together with a virtual reality headset and a pair of earphones for immersive experience obtained from 24 participants. While there are numerous dataset that can be used to stimulate for emotional analysis obtained using database for emotional analysis using physiological signal (DEAP) and database for emotional analysis in music. Neither had approached from a VR point of view and this would serve as the novelty of this study. The contents obtained from third party sources were stitched together to fulfil one of each of the Arousal-Valence Model (AVS) to enable proper classification and analysis of the emotion elicited by the subjects. The classifiers performed on the EEG datasets were K-nearest neighbor (KNN) and Support Vector Machines (SVM) and the datasets were split into Intra-Subject and Inter-Subject variability respectively to obtain an overview of the highest achievable accuracy. From Intra-Subject approach, the highest accuracy obtained from the classifiers were from SVM Class Weight Kernel above 97% on each quadrant. While Inter-Subject variability were obtained at 95.29%, 93.04%, 88.62% by KNN on quadrant 1,2 and 3 respectively while 92.86% were obtained from SVM-Polynomial Kernel on quadrant 4.Keywords: Machine Learning Language, KNN, SVM, EEG, VR.

Untuk meningkatkan prestasi dalam GLC, kerajaan Malaysia memperkenalkan program Transformasi GLC (GLCT). Inisiatif pertama dalam GLCT adalah untuk mengukuhkan sistem pengurusan prestasi. Kebanyakan GLC menyatakan mereka telah menggunakan Kad Skor Seimbang (BSC) sebagai pengurusan prestasi. Walau bagaimanapun, penggunaan BSC sentiasa terhad kepada pengukuran prestasi dan banyak kajian terdahulu juga sering membincangkan fungsi BSC sebagai pengukuran prestasi sahaja. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji penggunaan BSC sebagai satu sistem pengurusan prestasi dalam sebuah Syarikat Berkaitan Kerajaan (GLC) di Malaysia. Penggunaan BSC sebagai satu sistem pengurusan prestasi dianalisa dengan menggunakan rangka kerja Ferreira dan Otley (2009). Kajian berbentuk kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan kajian kes dengan kutipan data secara temu bual separa berstruktur, pemerhatian dan analisis dokumen. Artikel ini melihat 12 kriteria sistem pengurusan prestasi yang dicadangkan oleh Ferreira dan Otley (2009) di peringkat organisasi berdasarkan persepsi pekerja dari pelbagai lapisan jawatan serta dari jabatan yang berlainan. Hasil kajian mendapati BSC cuma digunakan sebagai pengukuran prestasi sahaja kerana mempunyai kelemahan dari segi penilaian prestasi.

SHOW ABSTRACTGovernment-linked companies (GLCs) play an important role in Malaysia’s economic development. To improve performance in the GLC, the Malaysian government introduced the GLC Transformation program (GLCT). The first initiative in GLCT is to intensify performance management system. Most of GLCs claim they have used Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a performance management system. However, the use of BSC has always been limited to performance measurement and many previous studies also frequently discuss the function of BSC as performance measurement only. The purpose of this article is to review the use of BSC as a performance management system in a Government- Linked Company (GLC) in Malaysia. The use of BSC as a performance management system is analysed by using the framework of Ferreira and Otley (2009). Qualitative research and case study approach were used with data collection method consists of semi-structured interviews, observation and document analysis. This article reviews 12 criteria of performance management system as proposed by Ferreira and Otley (2009) at the organizational level based on employee perceptions from multi-level of employeees and from multi-departments. The results show that BSC is only used as performance measurement because it has a weakness in terms of performance evaluation.

Masalah ini berbahaya kerana ia membawa implikasi negatif kepada organisasi, secara sosial dan ekonomi. Artikel ini mempunyai satu objektif utama iaitu meneliti faktor-faktor penyumbang kepada tingkah laku devian yang berlaku dalam organisasi. Sorotan literatur dilakukan bagi mendapat pemahaman yang lebih tepat dan mendalam berkaitan terminologi serta pembolehubah yang berkaitan. Tindakan carian artikel dilakukan melalui pelayaran pengkalan data Google Scholar, Open Access Theses and Disertation (OATD), Researchgate, UPM eTheses, Malaysian Theses Online (MyTO), Science Direct, Emerald Insight dan Springer Link dengan menggunakan kata kunci; devian, tingkah laku devian dan tingkah laku devian di tempat kerja/organisasi. Hasil penelitian kepada kajian-kajian lepas menunjukkan terdapat banyak faktor berlakunya tingkah laku devian dalam organisasi seperti personaliti pekerja, persepsi pekerja terhadap organisasi, tekanan dan bebanan kerja, kepuasan kerja, persekitaran dan budaya di tempat kerja, corak kepemimpinan serta tahap spiritual pekerja.

SHOW ABSTRACTWorkplace deviant behavior is a universal issue involving multiple organizations and various groups of employees, whether it is supporting or professional. Deviant behavior can be damaging because it brings negative implications to the organization, socially and economically. This article has a key objective of examining the factors contributing to the deviant behaviors that occur in the organization. Literature reviews are done to get more accurate information and in-depth understanding of the terminology and related variables. The articles were browsed via the Google Scholar database, Open Access Theses and Disertation (OATD), Researchgate, UPM eTheses, Malaysian Theses Online (MyTO), Science Direct, Emerald Insight and Springer Link using keywords; deviance, deviant behavior and deviant behavior at workplace/organization. The results of previous studies show that there are many factors of workplace deviant behaviors such as employee personality, employee’s perception of organization, stress and workload, job satisfaction, environment and culture in the workplace, leadership style as well as employee’s spiritual level.

Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, UPSIBUKA ABSTRAKSecara umumnya, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan instrumen Pentaksiran Ekstensif Modifikasi Permainan Kategori Memadang Dalam Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani Tahun 5. Kajian ini menggunakan instrumen yang holistik dan realistik bagi menilai tahap pencapaian murid bagi permainan kategori memadang. Pentaksiran Ekstensif merangkumi penilaian domain psikomotor, kognitif, afektif dan juga elemen penaakulan (memukul dan memadang). Penilaian domain psikomotor, afektif dan elemen penaakulan dilaksanakan secara pemerhatian guru, dan bagi domain kognitif pula, penilaian kendiri dilaksanakan oleh murid. Lima sumber utama dijadikan sebagai rujukan dan panduan supaya instrumen pentaksiran yang dibina bersesuaian dengan kehendak dan keperluan kurikulum Pendidikan Jasmani. Instrumen kajian ini dibina berdasarkan Buku Teks Pendidikan Jasmani Tahun 5, Buku Panduan Pengajaran Pendidikan Jasmani Tahun 5, Dokumen Standard Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran Pendidikan Jasmani Tahun 5, Surat Pekeliling Ikhtisas Bil. 1/2014 dan Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2015. Hasil kajian mendapati kesahan instrumen Model Pentaksiran Ekstensif bagi permainan kategori memadang adalah tinggi bagi kedua-dua proses kesahan. Manakala, kebolehpercayaan instrumen Model Pentaksiran Ekstensif bagi permainan kategori memadang antara dua penguji bagi pencapaian tahap penguasaan murid bagi domain psikomotor, kognitif, afektif dan penaakulan menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat. Berdasarkan dapatan kajian, instrumen Pentaksiran Ekstensif ini adalah sesuai digunakan sebagai instrumen standard untuk mentaksir tahap penguasaan murid bagi permainan kategori memadang dalam Pendidikan Jasmani Tahun 5. Instrumen Pentaksiran Ekstensif merupakan satu instrumen yang holistik, realistik, dan dapat mengukur tahap penguasaan murid selaras dengan kehendak pentaksiran berasaskan sekolah sebagaimana yang telah digariskan dalam Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025.

SHOW ABSTRACTIn general, this study aims to determine the validity and reliability of the Extensive Assessment of Modification in Fielding Category of Game in Physical Education Subjects For Year 5. This study uses a holistic and realistic instrument to evaluate the level of students’ achievement in fielding category of game. Extensive Assessment includes psychomotor domain assessment, cognitive, affective and also reasoning (batting and fielding) elements. Assessment of psychomotor domain, affective and reasoning element are conducted based on teacher’s observation, meanwhile for cognitive domain assessment, self-assessment is conducted by the pupils. The five main sources are used as reference and guidance so that the evaluation instruments that have been constructed are in line with the needs and requirements of Physical Education curriculum. This research instrument is constructed based on Physical Education Textbook for Year 5, Physical Education Teacher’s Guidebook for Year 5, Standard Documents of Curriculum and Assessment of Physical Education subject for Year 5, Professional Circular Letter No. 1/2014 and Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025. The findings revealed that the validity of the Extensive Assessment Model instrument for the fielding category is high for both validity processes. Whereas, the reliability of the Extensive Assessment Model instrument for the fielding game’s category between two testers for achieving the level of pupils’ control for psychomotor, cognitive, affective and reasoning domains showed strong relationships. Based on the findings of this study, the Extensive Assessment instrument is suitable to be used as a standard instrument in assessing the pupils’ level in fielding category of game for Year 5 in Physical Education subjects. The Extensive Assessment Instrument is a holistic and realistic instrument that can measure the level of pupils’ achievement in line with the school-based assessment as stated in the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025.

²Universiti Sains Malaysia, USMBUKA ABSTRAKKajian deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahap penguasaan kemahiran Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (TMK) melalui aspek kesediaan digital (digital readiness) dalam pengurusan kursus di INSTUN. INSTUN merupakan sebuah institusi latihan awam yang memfokuskan kepada pembangunan profesional berterusan penjawat awam terutamanya dalam bidang berkaitan tanah, ukur serta teknologi maklumat berkaitan. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan adalah set borang soal selidik yang mengandungi 27 item berskala Likert dan 1 soalan terbuka. Soal selidik dibahagi kepada dua seksyen iaitu Seksyen 1: Kesediaan Dari Aspek Pengetahuan dan Seksyen 2: Kemahiran Dan Kesediaan Dari Aspek Sikap. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan kaedah deskriptif dan dipaparkan secara peratusan dan penilaian dalam bentuk carta. Responden kajian ini terdiri daripada 39 orang pegawai INSTUN yang terlibat dalam pengurusan dan pelaksanaan pelbagai kursus di INSTUN. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan responden mempunyai tahap kesediaan digital yang tinggi dalam menggunakan teknologi dalam pelaksanaan kursus. Walau bagaimanapun kesediaan ini juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti pendedahan terhadap teknologi yang mudah dan sesuai agar penambahan tugas tidak membebankan dalam penyediaan bahan kandungan kursus dan latihan yang sesuai diberikan untuk memastikan teknologi yang sesuai dapat digunakan.

SHOW ABSTRACTThis descriptive study was aimed to find out the level of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) skill level through the aspect of digital readiness in course management at INSTUN. INSTUN is a public training institution focusing on the continuous professional development of civil servants especially in areas related to land, survey and related information technology aspect. The research instrument used is a set of questions that contains 27 Likert Scale items and 1 open ended question. Questionnaires are divided into two sections namely Section 1: Readiness from Knowledge Aspects and Section 2: Skills and Readiness from Attitude Aspects. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive method and presented by percentage and presented in the form of chart. The respondents of this study consisted of 39 INSTUN officers involved in the management and implementation of various courses at INSTUN. The findings show that respondents have a high level of digital readiness in using technology in the course implementation. However, this readiness is also influenced by factors such as the exposure to easy and appropriate technology to ensure that the tasks do not burden the instructors in providing appropriate course content and training materials in ensuring appropriate technology can be used.

Universiti Utara Malaysia, UUMBUKA ABSTRAKKajian berbentuk tinjauan ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap persepsi terhadap amalan kemahiran pemikiran sejarah dan konstruknya dalam kalangan murid berpencapaian tinggi dan rendah. Seramai 521 orang murid Tingkatan Empat melalui teknik persampelan rawak mudah telah dijadikan sampel dalam kajian ini. Soal selidik yang telah diadaptasi dan disahkan oleh pakar penilai dalam bidang pendidikan sejarah serta mempunyai nilai kebolehpercayaan yang baik telah dijadikan instrumen kajian ini. Data kajian ini telah dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensi iaitu ujian-t sampel tidak bersandar dan ujian MANOVA. Dapatan kajian ini telah menunjukkan bahawa persepsi terhadap amalan kemahiran pemikiran sejarah dan konstruknya dalam kalangan murid berpencapaian tinggi dan rendah berada pada tahap sederhana. Selain itu, dapatan kajian ini juga menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perbezaan min persepsi terhadap amalan pemikiran sejarah dan konstruknya yang signifikan antara murid berpencapaian tinggi dengan murid berpencapaian rendah. Di samping itu, tahap pencapaian murid didapati mempengaruhi persepsi terhadap amalan kemahiran pemikiran sejarah. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber rujukan kepada guru sejarah dalam merancang kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran sejarah yang lebih berkesan bagi meningkatkan amalan kemahiran pemikiran sejarah dalam kalangan murid pada semua peringkat sekolah.

SHOW ABSTRACTThe survey method is aimed to examine the level of perception on historical thinking skills practice among between the higher and lower achievement students. A total 521 form four students was selected in this study through simple random sampling technique. The adapted questionnaire used in this study has been verified by the content expert and has a good reliability value. The data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as independent sample t-test and MANOVA test. The findings of this study indicate that the level of perception on historical thinking skills practice among higher and lower achievement students are at moderate level. Beside that, the findings of this study also showed that there is significantly different between the higher and lower levels of achievement student on perception of historical thinking skills practice. Therefore, level of achievement are influenced the perception of historical thinking skills practice among students. Essentially, the findings in this study can be used to facilitate and encourage history teachers to be more proactive in planning and implementing more effective teaching and learning methods based on historical thinking skills among students.

³Universiti Malaya, UMBUKA ABSTRAKKajian ini memilih Sahih Muslim sebagai fokus kajian dengan terperincikan kepada beberapa hadis di dalam Bab Iman sahaja. Antara objektif utama kajian ini dijalankan ialah untuk menjelaskan metod susunan sanad yang digunakan oleh Imam Muslim di dalam kitabnya. Beliau terkenal dengan menggunakan beberapa simbol khas dalam penyusunan sanad-sanad perawi hadis, dan simbol-simbol ini menimbulkan beberapa masalah apabila pelajar kurang memahami susur galur jalan periwayatan hadis. Oleh itu, kajian ini menggunakan syajarat al-asanid sebagai kaedah bagi membantu pelajar dalam memahami penyusunan sanad hadis yang mempunyai simbol-simbol tertentu sahaja. Kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk membangunkan sebuah perisian yang berbentuk aplikasi mobil bagi memudahkan para pelajar membentuk susunan sanad tersebut dengan lebih mudah dan menghasilkan syajarat al-asanid yang tepat berkonsepkan model reka bentuk sistem berarahan ADDIE iaitu analysis (analisis), design (reka bentuk), development (pembangunan), implementation (implimentasi) dan evaluation (penilaian). Justeru, aplikasi mobil yang dibangunkan dalam kajian ini merupakan salah satu inovasi yang digunakan bagi membantu pengajian hadis dilaksanakan dengan lebih efektif dan mendapat impak yang lebih positif. Ia juga boleh dijadikan sebagai modul awal kepada inovasi lain dalam ilmu sanad hadis.

SHOW ABSTRACTSahih Muslim is a collection of hadith that compiled authentic hadiths, and it is considered to be one of the highest rank among the authentic collection of Hadith. This study chooses Sahih Muslim as the main focus by highlighting number of the hadiths from the Chapter of Iman alone. Among the main objectives of this study is to explain the method of sanad arrangement applied by Imam Muslim in his book. He is well-known for using some special symbols in the arrangement of the chain of the hadith narrators, and these symbols have become one of the problems among the students in the process of learning because they have lack of understanding in the method of arrangement of the chain narrators of hadith. Therefore, this study uses syajarat al-asanid as a method to assist students in understanding the arrangement of hadith sanad with only certain symbols. This study also aims to develop a mobile application to facilitate the students to form the sanad arrangement easily and to produce syajarat al-asanid accurately. Hence, the mobile application developed in this study is one of the innovations that aims to help the learning process of the hadith in an effective way, and to produce positive impacts among the students. It can also be used as an early module for other innovations in the application of knowledge of chain narrators (sanad) of hadith.

Level of Usage of Learning Approach Through Play In English Teaching Among Primary School Teachers

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKMBUKA ABSTRAKKajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tahap penggunaan pendekatan di kalangan guru Bahasa Inggeris dan kekangan terhadap pelaksanaan Pendekatan Belajar Melalui Bermain (PBMB) dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggeris di peringkat sekolah rendah sekitar Hulu Langat, Selangor. Model Penerimaan Berasaskan Keprihatinan atau Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM) digunakan dalam kajian ini untuk melihat tahap penggunaan pendekatan di kalangan guru Bahasa Inggeris terhadap pelaksanaan Pendekatan Belajar Melalui Bermain PBMB. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif di mana soal selidik telah digunakan untuk mengutip data. Seramai 50 orang responden yang terdiri dari kalangan guru-guru Bahasa Inggeris dan lima buah sekolah yang berbeza sekitar Hulu Langat, Selangor terlibat dalam kajian ini. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap penggunaan PBMB di kalangan guru Bahasa Inggeris sekolah rendah adalah di peringkat yang sangat rendah, di mana ada 17 orang menggunakan pendekatan belajar melalui bermain dan 33 orang tidak menggunakan pendekatan tersebut. Pengenalpastian tahap penggunaan pendekatan belajar melalui bermain dikalangan guru Bahasa Inggeris sekolah rendah terhadap pelaksanaan aktiviti belajar melalui bermain dapat membantu pihak pentadbir pendidikan untuk merancang dan menyediakan program yang bersesuaian agar dapat meningkatkan dan membantu guru dalam melaksanakan pendekatan atau perubahan yang perlu dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran harian di kelas.

SHOW ABSTRACTThis study is to determine the level of usage of the approach among English teachers and the constraints on the implementation of Learning Through Play Approach (PBMB) in teaching English at primary school level around Hulu Langat, Selangor. Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM) was used in this study to examine the use of approaches among English teachers towards the implementation of PBMB Learning Through Play Approach. This study uses the qualitative approach where a survey was used to collect data. A total of 50 respondents who were English teachers from five different schools around Hulu Langat, Selangor were involved in this study. Findings from the study show that the level of PBMB usage among primary school teachers is at a very low level, where 17 people use the learning approach through play and 33 people do not use the approach. The identification of the usage level of learning approach through play among primary school English teachers on the implementation of learning activities through play can help the educational administrators to plan and provide appropriate programs in order to enhance and assist teachers in implementing the approach or make necessary changes in their daily teaching and learning in the classroom.
